Books have an impact on our day, mood, and energy, just like other forms of consumption and expression. Rather than wait until the end of 2021 to reflect on this year's reading journey I’ve decided to instead create an evergreen reading list, committing to jotting down a quick couple of sentences about each book I read this year as I go. Here is a list sorted by month with what I’ve read so far.

Suggestions for future reads welcome! Swing back later in the year for updates!

August

The Brutal Telling (#5) by Louise Penny — Another mystery novel.

July (5)

Got on a murder mystery train this month. To be honest they weren’t real page-turners so I didn’t find myself reading as much as I have other months.

Still Life (#1), A Fatal Grace (#2), The Cruelest Month (#3), A Rule Against Murder (#4) by Louise Penny — This series has been fun to read. I enjoy the way Penny weaves art and literature references into mystery plots, resulting in stories that are both thought-provoking and engaging. As with most mystery series, some are better than others. Not as much of page-turners as some other series but overall enjoyable.
